How Exactly The New Skill Gem System Is Going To Work In Path Of Exile 2?
Jun 15, 2023 Source: POECURRENCY
We’re going to be talking a little about Path of Exile 2’s skill system and how they might balance it with regards to what we’ve seen in the two most recent teasers.
New Skill Gem System
Back in 2019, when Grinding Gear Games first announced Path of Exile 2, they also talked about its new skill gem system, which would reinvent the idea of sockets and links.
Instead of having linked sockets on gear that you place both skill gems and relevant support gems in, you’d now be using sockets to play skill gems. And then, within those skill gems would be the support gems themselves.
Along with this, there was the revelation that Path of Exile 2’s character builds wouldn’t just have one or two six-linked skills like we have in the current version of the game. Instead, they’d have up to eight fully supported skill gems to use. The increase in the number of slots means we need more skill gems. Therefore, before POE 2 is released, you must prepare a large amount of POE Currency in advance.
How Do We Get There?
With the only context that we have right now being the current game and the snippets of teaser content that we’ve seen, the question is just how do we go from what we have right now to what Path of Exile 2 is going to bring to the game?
Looking at the current systems, it’s obvious that this new system wouldn’t just be able to fit right in. There’s major balanced red flags, like hit based skills and damage over time. Just think about cold DoT builds that already use their six-link to run a double 5-link with an additional 5-link in the gloves or helmet.
If these builds are allowed to run a six-link Vortex, six-link Creeping Frost, six-link Cold Snap, and six link Wintertide Brand. And they all have durations and they all deal damage at the same time, which stacks as we know. It does in the current Path of Exile. Then, there’s going to be balance problems. So, how exactly might this new system work in Path of Exile 2.
Looking at the teasers, there’s one thing that ties the two together and that’s the character’s use of many different abilities. We see the Witch using a lightning ability at the start of the first teaser with seemingly no cooldowns. But as the teaser progresses, we can see some larger and more impactful abilities like the storm cloudless at the Witch’s feet or the giant ice meteor.
These abilities are never used twice in succession. And we can see a similar thing in the second teaser with this monk-like staff-wielding Melee character which uses a wave ability on the initial flea of monsters several times in succession.
But once again, the larger looking abilities like this lightning style slam and something that looks similar to thunder are not used all that often. I think there’s many different interesting avenues that this can go down.
Skill Cooldowns?
But from these teasers alone, it may seem that some abilities have cooldowns and others may not. Could it be the case that builds will typically have access to one or two spammy skills and the rest may be situational potentially more impactful abilities?
Movement animations
This is especially interesting when you factor in the movement animations that are attached to some of these skills.
We see the Witch using an ice meteor. But the casting animation moves her position back slightly away from the impact. And the same is true on several occasions during the second teaser where one of those characters slam looking abilities causes him to do a backflip and end up further back from the impact or the whirling staff ability, which looks somewhat similar to Cyclone but seemingly moves the character’s position avoiding enemy hits in the process.
Could it be the case that these additional movements that look like they’re part of the abilities in the teasers are actually just support gems, which alter the skills casting animation, adding to the idea of having several utility style abilities? These abilities are more situational instead of spamming.
Could it be the same about cooldowns? What if new support gems are added to massively increased damage compared to more traditional supports or add very useful utility but they also apply a cooldown to the ability?

Movement Skills?
What of the movement in these teasers like the dodge roll that we see the witch character using?
I’ve heard some discussion in other communities about the potential removal of movement abilities. But I’m not really convinced that this will happen.
Even though the lack of movement skill showing the teaser is interesting, we do know that this is likely quite early progression into the story, which is why the teams have a generally slower pacing and you’re actually able to see all of the small interactions that are going on.
I’d love to know what you guys think about this: how exactly do you think they’re going to make the new skill gem system work in Path of Exile 2 and how are we going to make that transition to get there? And could we see drastically different support gems that may alter casting animations or cooldowns of abilities?
By the way, Diablo 4, which is also an ARPG, is also very popular recently. Many players spend a lot of energy and time in order to level up quickly. This is undoubtedly a long process. In order to help you achieve fast leveling, I recommend you to look at the Diablo 4 Boosting service of D4gold.com. I hope it can help you.

What To Do When You Encounter Draven In Path Of Exile 2 Early Access?
The much-anticipated Path of Exile 2 Early Access features many unique gameplay features from the original, and one of the most exciting is the bosses with unique combat mechanics. For new Exiles who are new to this new game, Eternal Praetor Draven may be the first tough boss encountered in the game.
You will encounter it during Sorrow Among Stones’ quest in Act 1, and it is also required to complete the current map and unlock Lachlann of Endless Lament. New Exiles can learn from this boss the tone of the game style set by POE 2 - it requires great patience to deal with any situation that may arise in the boss’ encounter.
To prevent you from losing your confidence in exploring in this difficult first battle, this guide will introduce you to the specific attacks of Eternal Praetor Draven and what strategies you should use to deal with it. This is worth taking the time to learn, because it will be very useful for subsequent bosses with the same combat mechanism.
Pre-Battle Preparation
First, we need to understand that Draven will use Area Blocking actions in battle to prevent you from moving freely, so in terms of class selection, those that can provide ranged attacks will be higher than those that emphasize melee attacks, such as Mercenary or Sorceress.
In addition, it is also very necessary to use some POE 2 Exalted Orbs to upgrade the rarity of your weapons and armor before the battle. This will greatly improve your character’s survivability and combat ability to achieve the ending of defeating it in one go.
In-Battle Strategy
After you have built your build to be almost perfect, you can enter the arena where you and Draven fight. It is important to note that you need to interact with the last checkpoint before entering the arena, so that if you die in the battle, you will be reborn here without having to start over.
Now, let’s take a look at how Draven will attack you. In general, it mainly uses 6 attack modes, and the specific methods of each attack are as follows.
- Basic Sword Combo: The boss will use its sword to hit you 4 times in a combo.
- Necrotic Bolts: The boss will continue to swing its sword, but the swing range is very large, and it will shoot large cones of necrotic energy arrows at you.
- Double Necrotic Bolts: Same as the previous attack method, but it will shoot two waves of necrotic energy arrows at you.
- Necrotic Sword Wave: The boss will stomp on the ground before swinging the sword, which will create two necrotic energy lines, which can send out two shockwaves that can cause medium damage to you.
- Summon Minions: The boss will summon some ghostly minions around the arena, which form a hole. Once you step into it, you will be attacked by Draven’s sidekick, the Eternal Knight, with powerful attacks.
- Summon Asinia: The boss will shout out the name of this ghostly companion and Asinia will create 3-4 necrotic rune circles on the ground that will explode after a few seconds dealing moderate damage. In addition, the diameter of the last necrotic runic circle will be larger than the previous ones.
As mentioned above, the key to defeating Draven is your patience and righteous judgment. If you know where Draven is standing and what direction he is moving when he casts each move, you will find that the above attacks are very easy to dodge. If you find it difficult to complete this battle while exploring alone, you can also take advantage of the game’s new multiplayer feature, which allows your friends to team up with you and teleport into Draven’s battle, which will greatly reduce the difficulty of the battle.
For those moves that can fire arrows, the best solution is to move behind Draven when he starts or prepares to attack, or move away from him to increase the gap between each arrow. But it should be noted that this requires your build to be highly mobile, and you can achieve this effect by investing a lot of POE 2 Currency in key attributes such as movement speed.
For attacks such as Necrotic Sword Wave that damage the entire arena, the safest place you can stand is next to Draven. Since there is no specific Item in POE 2 that can help you immunize against explosion damage, your only option is to avoid or block this type of damage.
As for the spell damage caused by Summon Minions, you can completely avoid it as long as you stay away from the green ghosts around the arena. But if you are using a Class that needs to collect abilities and charge them during combat to launch powerful attacks, you can try it, but make sure you are safe.
Of all the attacks, Summon Asinia is the most troublesome for players. The necrotic runic circles created by Asinia on the ground are difficult to avoid in this chaotic battle, but as long as your character is flexible enough, you can avoid the last circle in time. But note that the role of dodging here is not very obvious, so you can give up this method.
After you learn these battle strategies, in fact, after a few failed attempts, it is easy to grasp the situation and recognize the attack patterns well enough to avoid any attack Draven throws at you.
Post-Battle Rewards
After you defeat Draven, besides the normal loot, you can also receive Draven’s Memorial Key Piece, which is one of the key fragments required in Sorrow Among Stones’ quest. Another fragment is in the hands of Draven’s wife Asinia, who can be found near another tomb on the same map.
The above are the specific methods and strategies for you to defeat Draven, the first powerful boss that appears in front of players in the early access of POE 2. I hope that both old exiles who are familiar with the original and new exiles attracted by the new content can have fun in this game that has been honed for ten years and get more game fun from it!

How Do You Craft An Optimal Monk Build In Path Of Exile 2 Early Access? - Equipment & Skills
In Path of Exile 2 Early Access that caused a robust response as soon as it was released some time ago, the main game content is to explore a specific area and story with different classes and builds, similar to the original. Currently, there are only 6 classes available for players to choose in Early Access, among which Monk can be regarded as a very common class. In this new POE 2, Monk mainly relies on fast movement and attack speed and powerful melee attack ability to cause damage, and more importantly, it can also use various elemental spells to cause damage.
According to various expressions in many player communities and many actual test videos, the key to mastering Monk build in the game is balance-accumulating power through close-range attacks with certain risks, and then quickly retreating and using powerful magic attacks to cause damage to the enemy. Considering that some new exiles who have just come into contact with this game may have a weak control over this build, this guide will give you a specific introduction to the equipment and skill gems you can choose in Monk build, so that you can quickly master this powerful class.
Best Equipment
Since Monk is a class that emphasizes movement speed and attack speed, strong mobility is one of the most important key attributes of this class, so you should choose as light equipment as possible. Unfortunately, most of the loot in POE 2 is completely random, so it is impossible to recommend equipping specific armor for each position.
It is also worth noting that since most of the attribute points of Monk are in Dexterity and Intelligence, and lack Strength to use those heavy metal armors, you can choose lighter and more melee-friendly clothing for it. For example, body parts with Garb or Robe in the name or you can simply wrap your hands with Linen Wraps, which is enough.
Or you can also look for armor that can enhance any two of the speed, damage, evasion or energy shield in Monk build: the first two combined in one can enhance your attack skills, and the latter two combined will make up for the lower defense and health of this class.
It is necessary to remind you here that after Act 2, you may need a lot of Rare or Unique equipment to maintain your exploration state. If you don’t have enough items of this level in your inventory, you can use POE 2 Regal Orb to upgrade your Magic items to more effective items and add an affix that will benefit your build.
In terms of weapons, Monk prefers to fight enemies with bare hands, but you can also equip it with Quarterstaves to make it more offensive. Besides the above, any Items in the game that can increase physical damage and elemental damage (lightning or cold damage) are your first choice. If you collect a lot of things that your Class can’t use during exploration, you can disassemble them or trade them with other players for POE 2 currency.
Best Skill Gems
In this POE 2, which differs from many MMORPGs, the skills you choose for Monk are not directly provided to you, but you need to equip various skills by picking up skill gems and some Uncut Skill Gems during exploration. The following are the best skill gems you can choose.
Killing Palm
In the game, you can turn those Uncut Skill Gems into various different skills according to your requirements. When you get your first gem, you can turn it into Killing Palm, which makes you more lethal. When you cast this skill, you jump forward and attack the enemy, and it also charges you with energy to perform more powerful damage later.
Tempest Bell
Once a character reaches level 6, a level 3 Uncut Skill Gem can be converted into a Tempest Bell, making Monk better suited for group combat. This skill activates a combo meter, which drops a bell on the battlefield when it is full. When you hit the bell with subsequent attacks, it will create a very destructive shockwave, which is very effective against groups of enemies.
Staggering Palm
After you get the level 3 Uncut Skill Gem, you can also turn it into Staggering Palm. It actually works very similarly to Killing Palm, but it stuns the enemy instead of killing them directly, and you also get a bonus after hitting the target - you can use your melee attack skill to fire a projectile.
This allows your Tempest Bell or Frozen Locus, which requires you to hit your target at a distance, to have great accuracy, and also makes your offensive skill combinations more effective.
Best Passive Skills
As in the original game, you gain a passive skill point for each level you gain, which can be used in the very large passive skill tree in POE 2. The good news here is that Monk’s position in the skill tree is flexible and versatile enough, so you can place your passive skill points anywhere, but be careful to choose skills that can increase critical hit chance and damage, as well as increase the amount of energy charges you get from skills.
Or you can try to focus on skills that can enhance lightning or cold damage, as these two elemental damage will make your melee attack skills more lethal in the next battle. In addition, Overload is a must-choose passive skill, which will make you more resistant to elemental spells cast by enemies.
The above are some of the equipment and skills you can choose for Monk build in Path of Exile 2 Early Access. Of course, everyone has their own preferences, and you can make some corresponding adjustments to this build according to your play style, but in general, I hope you can better explore this sequel that currently looks perfect with the help of the best build. I wish you a happy game!

What Kind Of Gems Can You Choose For Ranger In Path Of Exile 2 Early Access? - Skill Gems & Support Gems
The highly anticipated Path of Exile 2 has some familiar league mechanisms for old players, as well as many new game contents, which make players very satisfied with this sequel. But we have to admit that the game difficulty in POE 2 is a little higher than the original, and even more challenging than most other action role-playing games.
These challenges are not only reflected in the battles in the game but also in the build of Class. Ranger is the most popular Class in POE 2 Early Access, and its build ideas are also very complicated, especially for the choice of skill gems and support gems, which is very important for your early exploration.
If you are struggling with the complicated skill gem interface of Ranger, it is better to copy the best skills and support gems introduced in this guide directly. This will not only reduce the time and energy cost you spend on build but also allow you to explore the three acts of the game content smoothly in Early Access and pass the level quickly.
Lightning Arrow
Lightning Arrow gem is easily found when you enter the first area in POE 2, and it is also one of your main damage skills in the early game. Lightning Arrow converts some of your physical damage into lightning damage, and then chains this damage effect to other enemies near the target enemy, eventually causing a large area of chain lightning damage.
Not only that, after using Martial Tempo support gem on Lightning Arrow, it also increases your current skill’s attack speed by 25%, allowing you to deal continuous damage to enemies while moving quickly. In addition, it can also increase your DPS and offset the damage reduction you get from some Heavy Ammunition, making Ranger more survivable.
For Pierce, it not only allows your Lightning Arrow to penetrate enemies but also causes chain group damage, which is very useful when you face a large group of enemies. On top of that, you can pick up a lot of POE2 Currency and loot from the corpses of these monsters.
Lightning Rod
You can use Lightning Rod as a force multiplier for Lightning Arrow, making it a very powerful double whammy in your Ranger build. When you use Lightning Rod, you’ll see an arrow shoot out of your bow and pierce the ground, creating a circle of lightning on the ground. Any chain lightning effects in this area will directly deal lightning damage to enemies.
So when these two skills are combined, they can create a very lethal arena. If you equip Scattershot on your build as a support gem for Lightning Rod, the number of arrows you can fire will be increased to 3, although at the expense of 20% reduced damage and 20% reduced attack speed.
However, you don’t have to worry too much about it, because Primal Armament can increase the elemental damage of Lightning Rod by more than 25%, which will make Ranger a multi-faceted class that can cope with various combat situations. Alternatively, you could use some POE 2 Chaos Orb early in the game to add a modifier to your Magic or Rare defensive gear, perhaps making it more survivable when using a Lightning Rod.
Escape Shot
When you explore some of the game content in POE 2 Early Access, you will definitely encounter numerous group enemies surrounding you and attacking you from all directions, so at this time you need the skill of Escape Shot with group damage ability to help you easily solve this problem.
When you cast this skill, you will first jump into the air and away from the beetles or skeletons that besiege you, then you will freeze them in place and create a frozen ground, so that you can cast various damage skills on them in a safe state.
If you install Holy Descent in the slot of the support gem provided by this skill, you will also create a small area when you land, where you can restore the health you just lost, which will be more useful than using restorative Items such as flasks or potions.
Besides this restorative support gem, you can also install Frost Nexus, which can increase your freezing time for up to 4 seconds. This will help you have more time to deal with high damage values, to end this complex battle quickly.
Herald Of Thunder
After you successfully pass Act 1 and defeat King in the Mists, you will unlock the first spirit gem of the game. This has different uses for different classes, as each class requires unique skills. For Ranger, you can use it to obtain Herald of Thunder.
When you defeat those enemies affected by Shock effect, this gem will cause additional damage to the remaining enemies as lightning raining from the sky, which will reduce the pressure of fighting these enemies. So when choosing a support gem for it, you also need to focus on the ability to increase damage.
Although the description of Lightning Infusion in the game can be confusing, believe me, the lightning damage that you care about most when using Ranger is enhanced, and the damage of the two elements of cold and fire is of little use in this build.
You can also choose Innervate, which can increase the lightning attack damage of this skill by 35% for 3 seconds, which is a temporary buff to add a layer of damage you deal to the enemy. This will allow you to earn the final POE 2 currency and more rewards faster.
Freezing Salvo
As you explore deeper in POE 2, you will unlock new skill gems after reaching level 12, including Freezing Salvo. You can use it as an additional source of damage for your Ranger, but it should be noted that this skill has a charging cooldown - accumulating energy within ten seconds before casting a full-strength attack.
Here, support gems such as Hourglass that can reduce skill cooldowns are particularly important, not to mention that it can also increase damage by 40%. You can also place Cold Infusion in the slot, which will increase the cold damage caused by Freezing Salvo by 25%, and have more group damage capabilities.
These are some of the skill gems and supporting gems you can choose for Ranger in POE 2 Early Access. Of course, you can also adjust them according to your game style. I hope you can help your character pass all the difficult game content smoothly with their help, and feel unprecedented game fun from it. I wish you a happy game!

How To Choose Skill Gems As A Mercenary In Path Of Exile 2? - 6 Best Options
In POE 2 early access launched on December 6, you can not only experience a rich campaign and missions, including 3 acts, but also choose from 6 classes to find the class that best suits your play style.
However, it is worth noting that no matter what class you choose to play, the current skill system of Path of Exile 2 requires you to obtain and equip skill gems in order to cast skills successfully in battle or match skills with POE 2 Items. Of course, different classes are suitable for different skill gems.
Based on this, this time we will focus on Mercenary class and select 6 skill gems worth having for your reference.
1. Armour Piercing Rounds
This skill can be said to be the most basic Mercenary skill. If you equip it, you will find that it will almost accompany you through various battles and missions. And it is like a loyal one-click skill, which can play a dominant role without almost any combination.
Armour Piercing Rounds focuses on breaking enemy armor. It can not only pierce multiple targets but can even bounce between them, causing serious AOE damage.
Specifically, this skill will load a fast-flying armor-piercing projectile that will penetrate the first target hit and cause continuous, less damage to subsequent targets. It will produce a debuff called Armour Breaking on the target, causing the enemy affected by this effect to receive more physical damage.
2. Explosive Grenade
The principle of this skill is to launch a ball of elemental fire at the enemy, causing an explosion in a medium range after a 3-second fuse delay to form fire damage and ignite gas and oil, and the ignited enemies will receive additional fire damage for a short time.
It is worth mentioning that these grenades are very useful when dealing with large groups of enemies, suitable for you to carry out large-scale map clearing in order to get more dropped POE 2 Currency at one time. When Explosive Grenade fuse time is shortened, it will explode faster and be even more lethal to ordinary enemies.
In boss battles, this skill can be combined with other types of grenades to form a powerful AOE damage, causing the boss enemy to lose health continuously, while helping you deal with those annoying large numbers of enemy minions.
3. Galvanic Shards
Galvanic Shards is a skill that can output a powerful cone-shaped AOE attack in battle. When it works, the battlefield looks like it has experienced an electric shotgun explosion.
After hitting the enemy, it will cause shock and electric shock accumulation, causing the charged enemy to receive more damage from projectiles and lightning elemental attacks, and spread the shock to other healthy enemies nearby.
If you combine this skill gem with Herald of Thunder, or a support gem that can increase shock accumulation and lightning damage, it can successfully eliminate an entire wave of enemies. Or combine it with a high-quality crossbow equipped with two Storm Runes to produce a more powerful skill effect.
4. Herald Of Thunder
As a Mercenary, you can unlock Herald skills, and among them, Herald Of Thunder should be your first choice. Because it provides a powerful buff that increases the shock damage you deal after shocking an enemy.
This not only translates into a powerful AOE blast, but can also be modified to cause more damage by blinding, and can even chain attacks of more enemies. Although it requires you to provide 30 spirit points to keep it active, the rewards are huge. In addition, you can also use support gems to improve this skill, but then the spirit required will also be higher.
5. Rapid Shot
While the entire Path of Exile 2 is full of fantasy elements, Rapid Shot is similar to a modern Gatling gun. After a short “cooldown”, it will start to fire a barrage of fire elemental projectiles, causing ignition damage to the target.
In addition, if you provide Rapid Shot with support gems such as Ignition, Fresh Clip, Martial Tempo, and Primal Armament, it will become even more powerful, defeating some regular bosses in a few seconds, and improving your efficiency in farming POE 2 Exalted Orb.
If you combine this skill with Elemental Damage and Projectile Damage passives, plus Emergency Reload, you can create a stream of fire darts to melt any enemy. It is worth noting that as an additional passive effect, Rapid Shot also generates heat to enhance Grenades, causing them to deal with additional fire damage each time the heat is charged.
6. Gas Grenade
After casting this skill in combat, it will launch a bouncing ball, and then explode into a cloud of toxic gas after 2.5 seconds, causing continuous poison damage to enemies. Even targets that leave the cloud of poison will remain poisoned for a short period and continue to lose health.
If you combine Gas Grenade with Bursting Plague, Primal Armament, and Ingenuity, you can fill the battlefield with toxic gas. This gas can then be ignited by the effects of Explosive Shot or Explosive Grenade to cause even more powerful damage.
The above is just some of the selection references we provide for you. In fact, there are many skill gems suitable for Mercenary in Path of Exile 2. You can continue to filter according to your own game habits and builds. I hope you have fun!

How To Get Uniques That Are Very Beneficial To Your Build In Path Of Exile 2? - 3 Ways
In Path of Exile 2, which is sought after by many players, there are many new contents that differ from the original, such as new combat mechanisms and new couch co-op functions. But don’t forget that as a sequel, POE 2 also retains some contents from the original, one of which is the role of Uniques.
Whether in the original or the sequel, Uniques have always been an extremely rare but powerful equipment category with specific modifier attributes. If you can equip a Unique in the build used by POE 2, your build will gain unprecedented powerful capabilities. But in fact, it is very difficult for you to get them in the game. So this guide will introduce you to the 3 most commonly used and most convenient ways for players to get Uniques. You can choose the one that suits you best according to your game style or different goals.
Farming From Rare Items Or Bosses
Under normal circumstances, Uniques can drop from almost anything, including Normal or Magic level enemies and loot into treasure chests. But in fact, those high-level POE 2 Items, such as Uniques, are much more likely to drop from Rare items and Bosses.
To get more Uniques from those rare items or powerful bosses, you can go to an area 2-3 levels lower than your current character level, where you can repeatedly farm against boss enemies that you can easily defeat. Or you can create a new Instance to refresh the layout or enemies in this area so that you can kill them repeatedly in a shorter time.
But be careful not to go to low-level areas that are too different from your level for the sake of less difficulty, because the experience points and POE2 Currency awarded to you when you defeat those bosses will be very small, which is not conducive to your upgrade in the game process.
So you should aim for a level range that you feel comfortable with based on your play style, so that you can successfully kill those enemies and improve your combat ability. Collecting rare items and fighting bosses can be a bit tough, but it’s worth it if you want to get high-level unique items that can only be obtained from late-game or end-game enemies.
Currently, in POE 2 Early Access, the earliest and best place to collect Uniques is Mausoleum of the Praetor in Act 1, where you will find Forgotten Riches area and a bunch of treasure chests that can provide you with a lot of loot.
If you don’t collect enough rare items during your exploration, you can also use POE 2 Regal Orb’s ability to transform your magic items into the rare items you need and add a random affix to increase its chance of dropping Uniques.
Gambling In Town Gambling Vendor
In the game, besides the regular POE 2 currency like Orbs and shards, you can get after defeating some enemies. You will also receive some Gold, which can also be used to obtain some Uniques. You can gamble for the Uniques you want by bringing enough gold to Town Gambling Vendor in the hub area of each act.
The vendor’s inventory contains all item types, and each item’s stats or modifiers are randomly generated when you gamble. So in fact, this gambling system is very risky, not only because it requires you to spend a lot of gold but also because the probability of Uniques appearing in this system is very small.
However, it is worth noting that when you hover your mouse or controller over those products, they will not display this, only showing you the type of gear and whether it has Armor, Evasion, or Energy Shield as a benchmark. All details can only be identified after it becomes yours.
If you’re after a specific Unique, you should specifically get a piece of gear of the same type from Town Gambling Vendor first in POE 2: if you want to get Unique Gloves from this gambling system, for example, you’ll need to get a pair of Gloves from the vendor first to have a chance of getting the item you want.
Taking Risks With Orb Of Chance
The last and most risky method is to use Orb of Chance on your normal item to turn it into a Magic, Rare or Unique item. This is extremely lucky. If your luck is not so good, the normal item will be destroyed, which is a very big risk.
In addition, Orb of Chance is also a very rare POE2 currency. You may not find it in its entirety during exploration, and you will only find partial Chance Shards in loot dropped by some enemies. The advice here is that if you have a lot of Orbs of Chance later in the game, you might as well try your luck. Although the chance is very slim, it is not impossible.
Like gambling, when you use Orb of Chance, items of a specific type can only be converted into Uniques of the same type, so if you have a specific Unique you want, please look for as many gear of the same type as possible.
The above are the three ways to get Uniques in Path of Exile 2. Farming is the safest and most commonly used method in the game. Gambling and using specific currencies to get Uniques are methods with certain risks. You can make your own choice that best suits your game style. I wish you to get specific Uniques that are very useful for your build in the game as soon as possible and wish you a happy game!

How To Get Charms In Path Of Exile 2 And Use Them To Their Full Potential?
Path of Exile 2, released with great anticipation, has many similarities to the original game, but there are some key new game content that can make new and old players feel very fresh game experience. These new game content covers all aspects of the game, such as background story plot, combat mechanics and changes in items.
Among the many POE 2 Items, Charms can be said to be a very important one. It is a special accessory that has a similar function to the flask in the original game - helping you improve your defense or survivability. If you are just starting to explore this new POE 2, then follow this guide to understand how Charms work and how to use them better, which will save you trouble when creating your best build.
What Are Charms?
In POE 2, Charms are small accessories that can provide you with defensive effects such as fire resistance or immunity to poison. Here, some new exiles need to be reminded that these effects will only be triggered when you are hit by the relevant effects. For example, Sapphire Charm will increase your Cold Resistance by 25% for 4 seconds when you are hit by an enemy that deals cold damage to you.
Like POE flasks, Charms can be recharged by killing monsters or recharging in the recharge bar. When your Charm is depleted, its effects will not be activated and will not provide you with resistance. So in some battles that require long confrontations, it is very important to keep your Charms fully charged.
It is worth mentioning here that the rarity of Charms can also be increased. So you can use POE 2 Regal Orb on some Magic-level Charms to turn them into Rare items and add a new random affix. In addition, if you want to strengthen the effectiveness of a certain Charm, you can also add a modifier to it. For example, Sapphire Charm can help you restore four times the original mana after adding a modifier.
Types Of Charms
Currently, there are 12 Charms in POE 2 Early Access. You can only place three in your build at a time. Let’s introduce the role of each Charm. However, it should be noted that the current early access does not represent the official release, but don’t worry, we will continue to pay attention to you.
- Thawing Charm: Helps you to be immune to Frozen damage.
- Staunching Charm: Helps you to be immune to Bleeding damage.
- Antidote: Helps you to be immune to Poison damage.
- Dousing Charm: Helps you to be immune to Ignite damage.
- Grounding Charm: Helps you to be immune to Shock effects.

Currently, all Charms have 80 charges, but each Charm will use a different amount of charges in combat, so you may need to fight to find out the exact number. Although there are some modifiers in POE 2 that can be obtained by spending POE2 Currency that can reduce the amount of charges used by each activation of a Charm, it is usually the case that a basic Charm will only be low on charges after one or two activations.
So try not to only focus on the damage ability of your build in combat, but also pay more attention to these changes in defense ability so that you can safely cast all your damage value on the enemy in combat.
How To Place Charms?
Charms are placed in slots on the belt you are wearing in the build you are using in POE 2. Like most gear in the game, belts can be found as loot from defeated enemies. Alternatively, you can get belts in the shop provided by Renly in Clearfell Encampment, or if you are confident in your luck, you can get them by gambling with Finn.
After you equip a belt, you will see that you have unlocked a slot for Charms. As you progress through the game and upgrade your build, you will eventually unlock three slots for Charms. In your inventory interface, these three slots will be placed in the belt slots. You can also find it to the right of the potion slot, which makes it easier to see the effect it currently has and the charge.
How To Get More Charms?
First of all, most Charms will drop from anything on the map you explore, whether it is a defeatable monster enemy or a breakable target. Among these drop contents, you need to pay most attention to those monster enemies related to the main storyline, which has a higher probability of dropping Charms.
In addition, the suggestion here is to keep every Charm you get, or store it in your stash. Don’t lose the corresponding Charms just because the defense ability of certain elemental damage in your build is strong, because you will not always encounter low-level enemies.
The above are the various Charms and their effects that you can use in the current Path of Exile 2 Early Access. Whether you are an old exile who is very familiar with the original or a new exile attracted by the new game content, it is very important to pay attention to defense and survivability in the game. I hope you can choose Charm that best suits your build with the help of this guide and better explore this new POE 2!
