How To Easily Build Rage Vortex Of Berserking Character In Path Of Exile 3.23?

Dec 15, 2023

Welcome to this quick guide on Rage Vortex of Berserking character in Path of Exile 3.23. This character has caught fire with the community, and rightfully so, as it seems like a better version of Cyclone with its massive AOE and quick movement speed. While this build may seem a little complex, it is not, as you really only need two things for it to work. Moreover, if you have plenty of POE Currency, this will become even easier.

The first thing you will need is some level of rage generation, and I do this through the Chainbreaker keystone, which is converted from the Lethal Pride Chainbreaker. Chainbreaker converts your Mana into rage. So, with the few locations where I’m investing into Mana, I am getting 12 rage per second, which makes me able to cast Rage Vortex, and it lasts 30 seconds.

The two locations where I’m getting Mana regen from are only two locations on the passive tree, which isn’t very many points invested. That is with Mana Flows and Revelry. The other location from which I’m getting Mana regen is my gear in my jewelry slots. My rings both have flat Mana and Mana regen on them, and I’m also running Atziri’s Foible, which gives a ton of Mana.

Once again, this makes my Rage Vortex last 30 seconds, which could be a bit overkill for some, but there’s really not that much invested into Mana to get to this level. Also, I want my Rage Vortex to last a really long time because it’s kind of clunky to start it up, and there are a lot of things that snapshot this skill. While you don’t have to snapshot this skill, you’d be losing out on probably 100% damage if you don’t.

So, before I cast Rage Vortex, I have to do three things. I have to summon my totems, which GGG continues to basically require for all melee builds. Also, I’m using Intimidating Cry. So, before I Rage Vortex, I will slap down my totems, which are giving me my melee damage buff and attack speed buff. Also, I use Intimidating Cry for 100% chance to deal double damage. Only then can I Rage Vortex for my maximum amount of damage.

Some other notable things that people might be wondering and/or run into issues with on the build is that since all of our Mana regen is being converted into rage regen, you need some place where you are leaching mana, and I get this through having the mod on my gloves.

Another thing is that since Chainbreaker adds a rage cost to every single skill, we don’t want to be using a lot of skills to eat into our rage generation. For example, I could have put a six-link in my chest with a Cast on Crit Cyclone to automate my curse skills. But in doing so, the multiple supports would cause my curses to cost a ton of Rage, as supports multiply this rage cost. Also, since Cyclone hits every 3 seconds and would cost a lot of Rage to use, it would burn up my rage in a couple of seconds, making this option not viable for the Chainbreaker.

Although I’m sure there is a world in which you could use the combs gloves, which convert your life regen into rage regen, in which you could automate your curses through a Cast on Crit setup. While I am focusing the build into making it a quick T16 mapper, other variations of the build with less AOE can be done. Investing into more spell suppression and/or life regen to make it a more bossing setup.
