Ice Shot Deadeye Build Info - POE 3.21 Crucible League

Apr 26, 2023

In POE 3.21, it's important to perform well because the build requires elite skills and relies heavily on sustain to survive. During periods of invulnerability, there are issues with getting hit, but it may be possible to use multiple life lasts to fix this.

The most significant factor when choosing a build is how it feels to play. Even if the build is overpowered, it may be unpleasant to play, which can make it hard to enjoy the game. This particular build is very automated and requires minimal input, making it an S tier for me.

To play, simply run around and use Ice Shot to kill enemies. It’s also possible to swap Ice Shot with Lightning Arrow, which has marginally welled clear, but Ice Shot deals more damage and has a better Vaal skill. Artillery Ballista is not used in this build. We can provide POE Currency and other Item for experiencing this build.

Using a tanky Fall Ice Shot is now possible, but it can also be combined with Artillery Ballista for extra damage potential.

However, having to drop four totems can become tedious, so using the one-shot firing squad is more preferable. Flask management shouldn't be an issue since they're automated and always up while you're mapping. Sustain is also great due to the instant leech Mastery, although you will need to keep track of your life flasks for Corrupted Blood.

If you prefer not to use life flasks while mapping, you can replace them with Corrupted Blood Immunity on a triggered utility flask or a jewel implicit. Just be careful of random ground dots when backtracking on a map.

Socket setups have become increasingly important in the game, so you'll need to make careful choices. Instead of using Artillery Ballista, some unconventional setups, such as a second Mana Forged Aero setup can be used for a similar effect.

We are using Lightning Arrow in addition to Frenzy, not just out of laziness, but because we cannot use six links due to Shroud of the Lightless. We have linked Innervate to Lightning Arrow for additional damage in Ice Shot. Although it is essentially only a two-linked Lightning Arrow, it overlaps well with the extra projectiles we get from our tree and Dead Eye, noticeably improving our clear speed.

We're not using multiple projectiles gem as it might reduce our damage potential against potentially tanky Essences or Expedition mobs, and having an additional multiplier is helpful. The additional projectiles do not affect our Vaal skill, so it would only weaken our overall damage.

To make things easier, we're running Sniper's Mark with Mark on Hit, even though it compromises our build. While automating it reduces its effectiveness and lowers our damage output, it's convenient and frees up another socket for another support gem.

Running an additional gem like Precision, which doubles the mana cost, takes up valuable space in our socket. Therefore, we have to run a lower level of Precision and use Life Mastery instead. Though, one can self-cast it if desired, but the trade-offs for automation are preferable instead.

While it's tempting to use Blink Arrow in a bow build, Flame Dash is more effective as it's an instant skill that can be used to dodge things reliably. Although Blink Arrow is better suited for traversal, particularly with some cooldown reduction, I'd rather have the instantaneous skill.

Lastly, I want to talk about why I'm still using Molten Shell, even though it's been nerfed, and we're not even scaling that much armor.

In my opinion, I prefer Molten Shell even though Steelskin provides a larger shield. I enjoy having Molten Shell proc on a low-level cast and reduce damage taken. If you place Steelskin on your left click, it won't always be up when you're taking damage, so having Immortal Call might be a good idea for maps since we already have endurance charges.

However, the duration is too short, so adding an additional socket with increased duration might be beneficial.

Regarding itemization, each piece of equipment required an average investment of 30 to 50 Chaos Orb in the first week of the league, although most of it was self-crafted in some way, so I didn't keep track of all my expenses.

Your ability to gear up may vary depending on market conditions and how good you are at finding deals. Nonetheless, gearing up should be relatively easy if you know what to look for. You can also get away with worse gear until you've farmed enough currency for endgame gear. To avoid going through every item on my character, it would be more useful to discuss how I scaled things and what stats I looked for in gear, specifically for offensive scaling.

With builds like this, itemization is quite flexible. I chose to stack Abyss Jewels since they offer a lot of Elemental damage and paired that with the newly buffed Shroud of the Lightless and Darkness Enthroned, which synergize well with this build. These items are relatively inexpensive, making them an affordable option. In addition, I also looked for gear that would help me deal with hit-based foes.

When it comes to Fizz builds, you can either go for Fizz conversion or pure Elemental. Fizz may have better scaling at the top end, but pure Elemental is much easier to build and generally less expensive to get to a good point. For scaling pure Elemental damage, the first step is to get a bow that has a lot of flat Elemental damage.

One way to do this is to Spam Essences. Ideally, you'd also want a nice crit roll, so a Spine Bow base would be the best option as it has the highest balance of attack speed and crit chance. However, early on, a six-link Spine Bow can be pretty expensive. As an alternative, you can go for an Ivory Bow which has the same attack speed and crit as Spine Bow, but cheaper since we're not scaling Fizz.

To scale damage, focus on getting flat damage, generic percent increases to elemental attack speed and crit multi anywhere you can. Since we're scaling every element, we can take advantage of Trinity to amplify our damage output.

Even though Trinity's theme is based on using all three elements, you only need to have two of your highest elemental damage ranges overlap. It's fine if the third one is lower, but make sure a single element does not dominate.

In a try Elemental build, you can take advantage of the Shroud of Lightless penetration with eight Abyss Jewels to get 32 Le Pen. These Jewels are also a great source of flat damage.

Additionally, the build emphasizes scaling off of projectile distance traveled. The distance where you get maximum benefit from this is around 70 units, which is a bit out of range of Mana Forged Arrows' targeting radius. Against bosses, you'll have to stand a little closer at least initially to get your buffs up.
