Recently, we found out that there are some pretty big changes to Guardian in the upcoming Path of Exile 3.22. But currently we have no other classes to access other than two completely unique Guardians summons, which is very rare.

These days, GGG has been moving toward making classes less unique and more cookie-cutter. But Guardian behaves uniquely when summoned by certain skill types. Therefore, here I will talk about the role and impact of Minions skills on this Reworked Guardian.

POE: How Does Minions Skills Affect Reworked Guardian?

Now, there are some things in Guardian that I’m not really interested in, like these things with link skills. But it might be good enough for a party play. Because this is nice for elemental damage dealt to allies between you and the linked target.

You just need to be in the perfect position so that others can stand in the middle and benefit fully. But I think it will be very Niche and not very practical.

We now have Unwavering Faith, an Aura that increases life mana and energy shield regeneration by 5% for you and allies. This transfers your armor and max energy shield if you also have Radiant Faith.

But you need to be careful to preserve your mana. Otherwise you’ll spend more time and POE Currency on removing Elemental Ailments to restore your health quickly.

Minions Skills

Then we also have Minions skill. It allows Radiant Crusade here to grant us the level 20 Summon Sentinel of Radiance skill, and take 10 damage from your previous Sentinel of Radiance health.

POE 3.22: Reworked Ascendancies

And this level 20 Summon Sentinel of Radiance. It gives you and all your Sentinels some similar damage buff or some similar defense buff. We also have Unwavering Crusade when you or a nearby ally kill an enemy, which has a 25% chance to trigger a level 27 Elemental Relic.

I’m curious what the explanation for these two abilities is. Because when I trigger the level 20 Summon Elemental Relic, it pops up and does some damage. So this could be good for temporary Minions like Vaal Absolution or Sentinel type skills.

So if you’ve attacked it recently, you can tell its Bastion of Hope skill. You and nearby allies have 25 chance to Block. If you’ve cast this spell recently, you and your allies have 25 chances to block spell damage.

Synergy Between Reworked Guardian And Minions Skills

This is very similar to what they had before, but I think the main thing Guardians will open up will be these Minions builds. It might do with Vaal Absolution or maybe a Dominating Blow type build like Sentinel of Radiance and proc level 20 Summon Elemental Relic.

I’m curious if this applies to both builds. But we have to look at what these capabilities actually mean. The rest of everything Guardians have is the same as before. Not much interesting here, just most likely on Minions build.

You can think of these two Minions nodes as other nodes. If you’re going to be a minion, you’ll probably have quite a few Auras. So you might run Radiant Faith just to give yourself more POE Items like energy shields and armor.

POE: Guardian Reworks In Trial Of The Ancestors

I can imagine attacking and casting spells being fairly easy these days. You might cast spells with something like Vaal Absolution. Then attacking with a move skill or if you attack with an advantage passive, you can trigger both pretty reliably. So Guardians will actually provide some buffs for the temporary minion.
