How To Build Hexblast Mines Inquisitor In Path Of Exile 3.22 HC SSF Ruthless Mode?

Sep 11, 2023

Today I’m going to cover Hexblast Mines Inquisitor Build I’m currently using in HC SSF Ruthless mode. Its skill is rather special because it requires some specific auxiliary gems or specific equipment to activate it. So if you don’t have some equipment or support gems, you consider using Pyroclast Mine to start the campaign, which will be introduced later.

Hexblast Mines

Now let’s talk about Hexblast Mines part. This skill requires Curse on Hit Gloves. Any curse on Hit Gloves can use Profane Proxy Ring or Blasphemy Support Gem, which will cause Hexblast Mines to start activating. But if you haven’t obtained Support Gem or other POE items, you can’t play it yet.

Inquisitor Ascendancy

Then this time, we chose to start with an Inquisitor. Because this time Inquisitor Ascendancy has changed in Ruthless mode. They changed Instruments of Zeal to achieve the effects you’ll find on Sandstorm Visage.

This means your main-hand weapon critical strike chance applies to spells. So this time I can use Inquisitor’s Instruments of Zeal and Battlemage, and apply my main hand weapon damage crit to Hexblast Mines.

When playing the campaign, you can choose Templar like I did, or if you can choose to start in Shadow too. When you play the campaign as Templar, after Act 3, you can switch to Pyroclast Mine. You can then keep throwing it until you clear the campaign. In fact, there is no difference in damage, it just looks more gorgeous.

If you choose to play Shadow, you can choose to use Fire Trap or use Icicle Mine to launch. Also, after you do Act 3, you get Pyroclast Mine, which you can then keep throwing until the end.

Minefield Support

We used Pyroclast Mine without Minefield Support. This has the same effect as slowly dropping a mine to clear an area. So, in fact, Minefield Support is not necessarily needed.

If you want to start using Pyroclast Mine before Minefield Support is available. You can throw it with a mine and throw them all before fighting the boss, then detonate them all together.

After the 15 mines you throw detonate, more projectiles will be thrown, so the damage will be higher. So we recommend you throw them all away before fighting the boss.

Please note that if you use Minefield Support, you need to invest more POE Currency to increase your mine throwing speed. Because you will be stuck in one position for about 0.5 seconds after dropping the mine. So your positioning will be a little stuck. You need to get used to it, because after all, the damage added by Minefield Support is quite a lot.

If you feel this gameplay is not good, then you can stop using it until you get Charged Mines Support. It will give you a Frenzy Charge. And Frenzy Charge will increase the speed of throwing mines, making your build more comfortable.

Support Gems

The two most important Support Gems for this build are Charged Mines Support and Minefield Support. For other support gems, such as Trap and Mine Damage Support. Although the damage is very high, it will reduce the mine throwing speed by 10%, so actually I rarely like to use this.

No matter which Support Gems you get, you’ll have access to features like Hypothermia, Immolate, Fire penetration, Increased Critical Damage, and Increased Critical Strikes.

Spellblade Support can be very useful if you have a good damaging weapon. Because our class is an Inquisitor, we can use Spellblade with Battlemage. It depends on which Support Gems you get.

Tips

If you don’t want to start with Inquisitor, you can also choose Trickster or Saboteur. The reason I chose an Inquisitor is that Ruthless mode has changed this time.

They put a Sandstorm Visage effect on Inquisitor Ascendancy. This is very useful for Hexblast Mines. Because its base critical hit rate is low. But if you use Pyroclast Mine, you don’t need an Inquisitor. You can use regular Saboteur Mine or Trickster.

Saboteur Pyroclast Mine’s damage will be higher than Trickster’s. But Trickster’s survivability will be good. If you choose Trickster, you will get some damage first. Coupled with some dodge and suppression, this is even more helpful for survival. Saboteur’s damage should be higher. Of course, this comes down to personal preference.

Overall, that concludes this Hexblast Mines Inquisitor Build guide. Hope it helps you.
