How To Make A Build More Powerful By Stacking Charm Modifiers In POE 3.23?

Dec 18, 2023

Currently, Affliction League is in full swing. Path of Exile 3.23 brings new multi-classing options through new Ascendancy classes. One of these classes is Wildwood Primalist. This is a fully customizable Ascendancy that can be used to fill in the gaps that previous builds lacked.

For example, you can get a meaningful amount of Spell Suppression on a left-side-tree build via Charm modifiers.

But one of the most powerful use cases for Charms is stacking pre-existing Ascendancy modifiers until their number reaches an absolute limit!

So rather than using charms to cover any inconsistencies, use them to make your class even more powerful at what it’s already good at.

This does break some Ascendancy modifiers options because they become so powerful when the numbers stack up. That’s what we’re going to talk about today.

How To Make A Build More Powerful By Stacking Charm Modifiers In POE 3.23?

Juggernaut’s Unbreakable

We’ll start with one of the most powerful notables in Juggernaut, Unbreakable.

When max elemental resistance is accumulated, it adds 8% armor to elemental damage taken on hits. This modifier becomes powerful. Because the application of armor occurs after resistance is reduced, and armor is naturally more effective against smaller blows.

Charm modifier is now a weaker version of Unbreakable modifier, providing 2%-3% armor for elemental damage taken on hit. This means you can stack three charms on a Juggernaut to gain up to 177% of the armor value for elemental damage.

The defense of this modifier is very strong, therefore, this combination will be used to create some very tanky characters.

Juggernaut’s Unyielding

There is another charm modifier that increases Area of effect per Endurance Charge.

The insane thing about this modifier is that Charm’s maximum roll actually has the same power level as the pre-existing modifier on Unyielding Notable Ascendancy.

Stacking these Charms with Unyielding increases Area of Effect of each Endurance Charge by 24%. Imagine that with 10 Endurance Charges, you can increase your area of effect by 240%.

Chieftain’s Hinekora, Death’s Fury

Next up is Chieftain’s Hinekora, Death’s Fury Notable Ascendancy. The trigger rate of this Ascendancy is very low, but it is enough to have a very large impact on mapping.

However, on Charm, the chance of this modifier being present is only a measly 1%, which is useless for stacking three Charms.

But what about stacking these on Chieftain? This will give us an 8% chance to cause an internal explosion of 500% of the enemy’s maximum health. This will provide a more consistent gaming experience when mapping.

Gladiator’s Gratuitous Violence

There’s also Gladiator’s Gratuitous Violence, which causes bleeding enemies to explode at 10% of their health.

As physical damage, the same modifier is present on Charm when they die, rolling up to 5%. This means you can get up to 25% of your max health physical damage blast, which will be insane for a fast Gladiator mapping character.

Gladiator’s Reigning Veteran

While we’re on the topic of Gladiator, you may have heard of stacking maximum attack block chance. Since Gladiator gains 10% of this stat on Reigning Veteran, this brings the base maximum attack block to 85%.

On the other hand, Charm provides an additional 3% and can use three of them. Therefore, you already have a whopping 94% maximum chance of blocking attack damage.

But if that’s not good enough, you can actually spend POE Currency to buy Anvil Amber Amulet for a 100% chance of blocking attack damage. This provides an additional 3% chance of max attack being blocked. The remaining percentage is available on Corrupted Shield Implicit.

But remember, you still need to get every chance to block attack damage. Because this will only increase your maximum chance of blocking attack damage.

Inquisitor’s Sanctuary

Next is Inquisitor’s Sanctuary. It has a modifier that increases the damage taken by enemies on your Consecrated Ground by 15%.

This is a strong modifier because it does not increase your damage. Specifically, it increases the damage enemies take. And this calculation happens on the same layer, and stacking with something like Shock Charm also provides up to 10% more stats.

So with three Charms, you can increase the damage your Consecrated Ground does to enemies by 45%. This will increase your damage.

Crit Chance Proxy Modifier

Next, we can find this modifier in Charm. It increases your critical strike chance by up to 100% if you haven’t scored a critical hit recently. When stacked up and used with Proxy, it’s pretty insane.

Pathfinder’s Nature’s Boon

Meanwhile, by stacking Nature’s Boon, you gain Magic Flask from Charm, increasing its effectiveness by up to 45%. Before you gain a passive skill tree or equipment, you will gain 95% of Magic Flask effect.

Closing Thoughts

Honestly, there are so many more combinations I could mention here. But these are some really powerful combinations. There are two different Ascendancy classes you can choose from, which also offer other powerful options.

How are you guys doing in Affliction League? Let me know what Ascendancy are you using? What Charms or Tinctures are you using? As always, hope you have a great day.
