Freezing Pulse Totem Hierophant
Today’s build is designed for totem lovers, Freezing Pulse Totem Hierophant build of Templar class.
Totem build is the first choice of many players because you can clear a large amount of game content with a very low POE Currency investment, and the gameplay is super simple. The build here is no different.
We use Freezing Pulse skill on many totems for extremely high clearing speeds, and switch to Ice Spear during boss battles for incredible boss damage.
Pros & Cons
To list the pros of this build, I’ll start with how it’s low budget and simple to play.
Totem builds are very safe as you only have to summon them. They do all the hard work while you wait safely. Therefore, totem builds are great for clearing high-level content with low-level gear.
On top of that, in this build we have access to Ice Spear Totem for boss fights, which deals massive damage to a single target.
Now to list the cons, I’ll start by saying that since Freezing Pulse uses projectiles, obstacles can cause a real pain in your clearing speed. But if you keep repositioning the totem when needed, everything will be fine.
Another problem is that this build has no evasion or spell suppression. But don’t worry, as mentioned before, totem builds are very safe and if you pay attention to your positioning, you’ll have a hard time dying.
Budget
As for budget, you can make it destroy early endgame maps easily with only about 35 Chaos Orbs. But to enter Yellow Maps you need to invest about 90 points of Chaos Orbs.
To easily complete your Atlas, I recommend investing in about 3 Divine Orbs. But you can definitely do it for less money.
Items
This build requires 3 mandatory unique items, but they are usually very cheap and easy to get.
The first is Soul Mantle armor, which enables socketed gems to be supported by a level 20 spell totem. This gives us additional support skill gems.
We also need a Kikazaru ring to counteract the effects of the curse. This is because Soul Mantle has the side effect of placing a random curse on you whenever the totem dies.
Finally, we need a Self-Flagellation Viridian Jewel, which increases damage by up to 20% every time it placed a curse on you.
Clear Speed
For clear speed, thanks to Soul Mantle you will always have around 9 curses, resulting in 180% increased clearing speed damage. I give it an 8 out of 10. You can summon four totems that fire massive Freezing Pulse projectiles at a high cast rate.
I deducted 2 points because you need to keep summoning your totem. Projectiles cannot hit enemies if they are behind any obstacles.
Boss Damage
The boss does incredible damage and is definitely worth 10 points. With this build, we can easily replace Freezing Pulse with Ice Spear for more single target damage.
Survivability
I would give it a solid 9 out of 10 for this survivability. Because as a totem build, while you’re doing all the work, you’re always far away from the action.
So if you know how to pay attention to your positioning, you can easily complete high-level maps with low-level gear and, most importantly, the build will still have high armor and high block chance.
