In this post, I'll cover how to craft +2 Chaos Gem Amulet for 6 to 7 Divine Orbs, along with other tricks I learned while crafting 55 +4 Gem Amulets.

Step 1:

Isolate +1 Skill Gems with 1 suffix. The easiest way to do this is to buy any +1 all Skills Gem Amulet (50 Chaos Orbs -1 Divine Orb at time of posting) on the trade site, then separate it from beastcrafting. The best ones to look for have only 1 prefix (all skills), so you can tweak one prefix before splitting. That way, if it splits into 2 prefixes, you can simply remove the benched prefix from it, and since it splits into at most 3 mods, you'll only be left with 1 suffix. If it splits into 2 prefixes and no suffix, you can simply add an aspect to put it in the desired state, that is 1 prefix snd1 suffix.

If it splits any other way, you can undo it to bring it into this state, or if it splits magic you can use the imprints. However, on a costing basis, this is rarely worth it if your only quest is + 2 Chaos Gem "hack" discussion here, you just need to get a new amulet.

Step 2:

Once you have 1 prefix and 1 suffix,  your meta mod can go to 3 crafted modifiers, but prefix cannot be changed and suffix also cannot be changed.

This will give the amulet a total of 5 modifiers, 1 open prefix, and all existing mods will be locked due to meta mods.

Step 3: 

In this step, you should reforge Chaos (100 vivid Lifeforce). Since the only prefix option for Chaos is +1 to Chaos Gem, this will force your 6th mod and only opening modifier to be +1 Chaos Gem, allowing you to have +2 Chaos without spending any Sacred Lifeforce or over much Lifeforce. This is also a static cost that doesn't change or bottleneck based on the availability of Sacred Lifeforce or vivid Lifeforce.

Adding Chaos Harvest now itself requires 16 to 17 Divine Orbs. So, this reduces the cost by 66% and is a 100% deterministic craft.

It's also worth noting that the +4 Chaos Amulets only makes up 10% of all +4 amulets, most likely due to the higher associated cost of adding it.
